I just got a dwfp 1838 stapler and when I buy the staples in the safety plunger will not retract enuff to be able too pull the trigger.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

Show a picture of the box of staples causing trouble with their description plainly viewable and lets start there.

So what you call the safety plunger...is that the nose piece that depresses when you position the gun to strike?
