Cant find a Cold Water Tank Lid to fit

Hello. I recently had a leak from my overflow in the cold water tank outside.
I was quite pleased with myself as i changed the ballcock valve at the age of 58 on my own as i am on a low paid job and couldn't afford a Plummer.
The Tank measures 45 inches in length and 28 inches in width.
The tank was covered in cardboard and i am having trouble finding a lid to fit, I cant find a makers sign anywhere, could i use heavy tarpauline to cover it or has anyone had this problem too and what did they do.

Try a scrap yard for a piece of galvanised steel or a plastic cover. I don't think that you will get an exact cover to fit now. You will need to weight it down to stop it blowing away as it is outside.
