A new Rayburn user I'm having problems with temperature control on my solid fuel Rayburn.
When I light it from scratch the temp often goes sky high. If I'm lucky enough for that not to happen and it stays alight it isn't hot enough to cook on and I'm not beikng successful in increasing the temperature.
Am I correct in thinking that if I open the damper I should be able to reduce the temperature if it starts overheating?
When I want to cook am I correct to refuel (if necessary) and then open the spinwheel and damper until the fire comes up, then closing the damper leaving the spinweel open until the oven reaches temperature I'm after?
After cooking, how do I achieve idling for overnight?
I'm out at work for best part of the day . Maybe I'm not refuelling adequately in the morning before I leave??
Keen to succeed I would appreciate any advise for other solid fuel Rayburn users. Many thanks.
