Water inside washing machine drum

Model # MAH5500BWW Maytag front loading washing machine. I have a moldy smell from the door opening. When I spin the drum by hand, I hear water sloshing around inside, but cannot see any. Shouldn't the machine empty completely after a wash cycle.

good morning. Did you ever figure this out? My drum has water in it too. I searched all over the internet and couldn’t find an answer. I think the water is supposed to be in there. I had my drum or basket or whatever it’s called right out and there was no way the water was coming out. I would love to know the answer
