Thermostatic radiator valves.

In the summer I want fit thermostatic radiator valves as a better control the heating in the house. Usually just 2 people stay in the house. My son is pretty well in his own room with all his computer stuff. I use the smallest bedroom as an office/computer room/tv room. My bedroom is just for sleeping in. Then my ex stays over some times. She has the front down stairs room so the radiator is normally off. The living room is also used for whole family dinners occasionally with the radiators normally off. The bathroom, hall and kitchen has the radiator on. The room stat is in the living room which is effectively unused. I understand if I fit thermostatically controlled valves the the room with the stat is not fitted with a thermostatically controlled valve. But this room is effectively not used and the radiators are normally off. A long room with an extension so there is a large radiator by the door and a smaller booster radiator at the far end. The thermostat is then set to a low setting. But then this room normally doesn't heat up.
So if I am fitting thermostatically controlled valves through out the house what do I do about the living room with the room stat and the rads off. Do I just keep the thermostat at a lowish setting so the boiler comes on and off or will it keep going trying to get the living room up to temperature?
Puzzled by this, I can't get my head around it. Do I need to get rid of the stat in the living room and fit a stat elsewhere in the house?
The radiators by the way are all aluminium rads so being compact are by the doorway to the room and not beneath windows, if that makes a difference.
