Temporary Adhesive / Fixing

Does anyone know of any dissolvable adhesives or foam?

I am looking for something that I can use to temporarily attach an electronic gadget to wood or plastic. My ideal solution would be a glue that would set rock solid in a few minutes but then disolve totally when I applied hot water.

Any suggestions?
