Oiy, always something else. I previously posted about a new HTP indirect water heater install. There was a problem with the old Swet-Chek which got fixed easily when I replaced the 'guts' with the parts from a new valve. For a while been working great. Lots of hot water. The tank seem very well insulated. I like the result. So here's the new problem. I do not understand how or why. When we open the cold water taps on sink, toilet, tub/shower upstairs in my ranch, the Swet-Chek rattles. I checked and checked where the rattle is coming from and when I screwed the Set Chek open (which you can't leave in that position) no more rattles. So it is that. My question is how can the cold water line pressure/flow changing from opening the tap cause that valve to rattle? It is more or less isolated in the boiler water circuit where there is a pressure control valve to the boiler water with obviously no direct connection other than the water feed line to the boiler. One change I will get to today, the town flushed the hydrants a couple weeks back and my sediment filter is black ....covered with crud. I don't understand how that would impact my issue but who knows? Any thoughts or similar experience is appreciated.

Can you empty out the tank, and then check out the valve? Seems like it did get crap in it or you may need to replace it.
