Does the shower warm up if you leave it running for some time? Our shower takes a minute to get going in the Winter as the pipes are so cold (and the water is extra cold going in).

What is the length of the run between the boiler and the shower? Is it possible to insulate the hot water pipes from the boiler to the shower - this can provide a more consistent water temperature and save a lot of energy. Is the temperature of the incoming cold water relatively consistent throughout the year?
