Hello. The light in my shower went out. It’s a recessed light and I watched some YouTube videos on how to get access to the bulb, and all the videos showed people using their fingers to gently pull the cover down. My cover seems stuck in some places. Part of it will start to move, but half of the surface area seems “glued” to the tile, like the mortar caused it to stick. Is this this case? Can I use a knife to “free” the rest of the cover from the tile? Thanks!!

That is an LED light, in which is only about 3/4" thick. They are usually held up/in with two (2) spring-loaded metal clips that catch the inner edge of the drywall/tile circular cutout. You'll see what I mean once you've removed it.

Pull on one side harder, then on the other side (180deg). It will come out, and the driver may follow with it.

The driver is likely your issue. Power off at the switch, then change it.

Let me know.
