Hello my fellow do-it-yourselvers :)

I came up with an idea to renew this table. 2016-03-21 21.06.40.jpg

First, I wanted to grind it a bit and then to stain it, because there is a lot of scratches on it. 2016-03-21 21.07.54.jpg

But I am affraid to do it, beacause it seems the table is a simple hardboard covered with i-do-not-know-what and I do not want to damage it. It is, anyway, but I want to save it. :D 2016-03-21 21.07.02.jpg

What do you see as a best way to improve it? I have no experience so i realy do not know... :D

I would like to give it some cool newish look with wooden pattern, maybe?

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks you all! :)

Sanding takes off very, very little, so you are probably safe even with a veneer. I would test a small area that is hidden first just to be safe. Definitely don't paint over that beauty if you don't have to!
