I have an old house.
The old porch was made into a room--and the difference between the living room and this porch room is 1 1/2 inches. My living room has hard wood floors. Currently the porch room has carpet that will be removed.

How do I best raise the floor so folks don't trip? The porch has a plywood sub-floor under the carpet.

More plywood? Could I get boards to nail down over it then put whatever I want on top.

I'm stuck.
Thanks

One and a half inches is a lot if you're thinking about boards. I'd get some lengths of 2" X 1" and batten out the floor, full width lengths, say nine inches apart, then get some half inch flooring of your choice to lay over them.
