Hello
I am aware this is a really obvious answer to this question...but bear with me, I know nothing! I'm trying to fit a doorstop with a concealed screw fitting. I have the doorstop itself with the open end that goes against the skirting and the other end that can also open up. There is also the screw and a wall plug type thing. I can't figure out, dont laugh, how it all fits together.
I presume I drill a hole in the skirting, push the wall plug in, but then what? I thought wall plugs were for nails, would I screw it in from the openable end of the stop?
Any help please, once youve shaken your head in amazement....

Hi
There's no amazement, this forum is here to help.
A wall plug is for inserting a screw in masonry, not nails.
If you are fixing to a wooden skirting board the plug is not needed. You may need a tiny hole first in order to start the screw though. Also no doubt the screw supplied will be rather long.
As I don't know exactly what door stop you have, there's not much I can add.
Perhaps Santa could be persuaded to leave a book on DIY for you this year.

Thank you so much and your santa comment made me smile! The doorstop is now fitted, hurrah! :)
