POOL PUMP

I have a 230v pool pump motor that only hums. The pimp turns freely. This unit is 3 months old. Any suggestions?

Either the starting capacitor, or the centrifugal switch. The starting capacitor is easy for you to change, but the cent switch is more complex.

I suspect its the capacitor. BTW = If you hear it humming on attempting start...turn it OFF right away....it could be drawing LRA (locked rotor current) which is 6x your FLA. Your burn out the windings quickly.
