I no this is a bit off subject but i really need somebodies help. I am spray painting a plastic model for my University product design work, and it went wrong and I made the mistake of franticly putting it under water to try and remove the spray paint coating I added to it, and it went rough/lumpy. Is there anything i can do? e.g. sanding to get it back to a smoothish texture for a re-spray?

I would go to try paint remover/stripper. You can get it from stores like homedeport. You might want to bring your model and ask around to make sure the remover won't hurt the surface beneath.

get some terpentine or other paint remover and wash it off, it shouldn't be too difficult depending on the material.
