Grundfos 98562818 SCALA2 3-45 AVCBDF 1x115V 60 Hz Pressure Boosting Pump.

Installed 10/2016.

Has become increasingly noisy in the past few months. Still functions as intended. Unit has not been moved since installation. No other plumbing issues, other than replacing 2 hot water heaters 03/2018.

Trying to figure out what may be causing this increase in the dbs.

Welcome to the forum :).

What does the noise sound like? Is it the same operating noise, just louder? Or does it thump on start/stop? Or does it sound like gravel through the pump?

There are lots of causes, but clarifying the noise may help identify where to start looking.

Have you cleaned the filter?

Yes, sounds sort of like gravel through the pump. It DOES NOT start and stop. It works as intended. It just has grown louder over the past month or so. Did not know it had a filter. Only info that was left by the plumber were the installation instructions. Is cleaning the filter something a layman can tackle?

Can you have a look on YouTube for "pump cavitation" and see if that's what it sounds like? That would sound like gravel/marbles in the pump. Here's a bit of info on it from the Grundfos website:

https://www.grundfos.com/service-support/support-contact/faq/what-is-cavitation.html

The manual for your pump is here ( http://net.grundfos.com/Appl/ccmsservices/public/literature/filedata/Grundfosliterature-5606281.pdf) and it includes instructions for cleaning the filter, which should be straightforward.
