Leaking tap - help!

HI

I bought a dual mixer tap from ikea 3 years ago for my kitchen sink. About 6 months ago it started leaking slowly from the spout when the water was running. I was advised to replace the O rings which i've just done. The old O rings did not look particularly worn, but i tried anyway and if anything it has made the leaking spout slightly worse. I'm now unsure as to what the problem is.

Inside the tap there was a white plastic ring that seems to have a break in it, but i'm not sure whether that's normal or not.

Any ideas would be very much welcome!

Thanks in advance

Hi Susie,

Yes, the 'o' rings should have done the job if that was the problem. The problem may just be related to a loose fitting fitting. For the water to come out of the spout the water needs to get past the washer/valve, in which case either something is broken or loose. Best thing to do is remove the tap, strip it down and rebuild it.
Is the water cold or hot water?
Phil.
