We currently have a mish mash of a patio. There is a 6 foot wide concrete slab at the back entry from the house. It has a huge crack in it. The rest of the patio is done with brick pavers. The hottub is there as well.

So this is the plan. Moving the hot tub out from under the deck and getting rid of the cracked concrete slab. pulling up all of the patio bricks. and laying down a level 24" X24" patio slabs across the entire area.

My question is this. what should the substrate be under these tiles. ??

Thanks in advance,
Cheryl

Hi, not being an expert or anything i have layed a few and can tell you that a good plan is to use some form of hardcore-try concrete mix well tamped down(about2") on top of this sharp sand dry mixed with1/10 cement (1").Both can be got from diy stores in bags. Also check out utube for instuctions.
