Old kitchen getting new countertops, have removed old tile backsplash that was over some drywall and lath and plaster.
When removing tile of course it removed some of the drywall and plaster.
I have applied drywall mud over to smooth things out a bit, still need to sand a bit.
Will this be alright to tile over?
See pictures
Thanks

Probably, but you might need some pretty thick adhesive.
Alternatively, make sure you don't put a down-lighter anywhere near it.
Personally, I would get it a lot smoother than that.
It might have saved you a lot of effort if you put a backing board up first like Marley Hydropanel.
You stand a much better chance of getting a getting a decent result if you start with a decent surface.
If you do sand it, use an open mesh abrasive and a plasterers sander.
Don't use "sand paper" and a small block of wood.
I would also give it a coat of PVA to prime it.
Check it out with a long straightedge.
Is your tile the finished item or just the pack?
Small tiles are even more reason to start smooth and in plane.
Plastering probably isn't your day job?
