How can a downspout be added here?

We have a problem corner on our roof. My husband says there is no solution but I’m certain there has to be some sort of adaptor out there that will stop rain from rushing off this corner of the house. Ideally I’d like to divert the water into my rain barrel. What can be done? Thank you in advance!

Hi and welcome.

That looks a really bad design there should have been a box fitted and connected to the original gutter.

Easy solution.

This arrangement collects the water off the flat roof of our bay window. The lead has a 2" lip all the way round so the roof would otherwise collect a lot of water.

All you would need is the lower box and screw it to the wood. You could get a fixing on two sides.

You could attach a similar downpipe to it to drain into a barrel.
