We had a new unvented cylinder installed a year ago. The plumber put an expansion vessel away from the wall and supported only by two copper pipes. The expansion vessel is 12L 130 Cal-Pro Zilmet.
See photo below.
We had a different plumber service the unvented cylinder yesterday. He said that if the expansion vessel fails, it will fill with water and become very heavy. The copper pipes could break and then hot water would flow into the room continuously. He was advised us strongly to move it and fix it against the wall. (costing £400).
Should we move the expansion vessel and fix it against the vessel ?
