I have recently moved into a new property and working on several jobs around the place. I had a look at the house and shed drainage yesterday and the shed just drains down the wall at the moment. I discovered the drain cover under various slabs and mud. I am not sure what has been done with the rectangular hopper. It looks like a section has been removed and the drain pipe from the house inserted directly into the hopper. I have only come across the system where the drain pipe sits above the hopper and discharges water from above. I am looking to connect the shed pipe directly to the drain as the shed wall is looking very damp. Does it matter that the drain is a lot lower than the patio?
