Diy wall mud or plaster paris

Im tired of buying joint compound or mud for holes in the wall. I know alot of them are big enough i should replace the broken wall with a new piece of drywall. Well im not doing that. It's not my house & im not putting the holes in it. On the other hand im tired of spending money on mud. Im thinking there has to be a easy way to make my own?
