Disconnecting Car Battery

My car Manual, when discussing the airbags, says "do not disconnnect the battery without consulting the dealer."
At some stage it may be desirable to change the battery. Why is it a problem if the car has airbags?
Car is Toyota Yaris 1.3 Petrol engine.

All that I can think of is that the airbags are controlled by a computer. maybe if you take out the battery it resets the computer and prevents them from working properly?
