I am attaching a ledger board to the side of my house for a deck approx. 9 ft. off of the ground. the deck is 52' long and 8' out from the house.
I am attaching it into a solid concrete mid floor. the side of the house is covered in synthetic stucco (smooth finish) denglass. I believe that the densglass is 1/2" width, and a 5/8" sheath plywood width, (total 1 1/8" betwwen the ledger board and concrete.
my question is: can I mount the ledger board directly to the densglass stucco and use expansion bolts into the concrete. or do I need to cut the densglass stucco away then mount the ledger board directly to the plywood sheath. I prefer just to mount the ledger board to the 1/2 synthetic stucco (Sto Stucco), for two reasons, #1 much more work. #2- much more work to keep it from water penetration, flashing, etc.
