Hi
I have a chimney that has been heavily patched with lead and the render is in a poor state of repair. I have noted that the construction has no lead tray and been advised to have it taken down and rebuilt with a lead tray installed. I have been receiving quotes and I an considering options. One builder wants £4.3k to re render and install lead flashing. Another quoted around the £6k mark for a rebuild but extra for the render and flue. I have been looking around for options and found that there are GRP chimneys available that come already rendered etc. I have been quoted around the £2k mark for one of these. Apparently they are not just for show but can be used as a normal chimney would be. All that is needed is the chimney removal and a lift to get the new one in place. Has anyone experience of these chimneys?
