Hoping someone can help....
Last week we moved house and therefore our 10 year old Candy Fridge Freezer. On arrival last Wednesday it worked fine and continued to do so until Sunday. On returning home with bags of shopping the freezer suddenly started to defrost (it's not an auto-defrosting freezer). We checked the fuse which was ok and were about to decamp all of our food when it suddenly started working again. It froze properly and was working well until yesterday evening when it stopped again. We removed all of the frozen food and then 30 minutes later it started up again. It has now worked continuously since then (15 hours) and the freezer is working well.
There is only a visible thermostat in the fridge section which was on high throughout this period. Do we need a new thermostat? Could it be something else? Why would it work then stop working? Is it easily repairable or should we bite the bullet and buy a new one?
