hi there i have taken on a job to do in the next month to replace an existing boxed in outer string and handrail with new handrail spindles and newel post, i have just finished serving my time as an apprentice but never came accross this type of job and was wondering what was involved really, is there anything i should be majorly aware of? im aware that the outer string will not be affected just the newel, boards and capping but the landing wall continues down to form this boxed in section, by removing it and tying in a handrail will i be disturbing anything load baring? do not know which way ceiling joists run as yet as i have not had a good look at the job. any info would be great guys! thanks, adam age 21
