I got a really nice bicycle tire pump at a yard sale for a couple of dollars. The clamp on chuck could use replacement and I found a half decent one on EBay for a few dollars. Here's my question. Tts got a sort of barb connector and a tightly wound coil spring that I think is the crimp/clamp for the barb onto the hose. My thought is: cut off the old part, slide the spring onto the hose back a bit, then insert the barbed chuck then somehow slide the spring up onto the barb location to clamp it onto the hose. Does that sound right?
