I own a house built in 1958. One of the showers still has the original faucets and probably never been serviced in anyway. I am a capable DIY guy but since I will have to turn off the water to the entire house I would like to have the correct parts before I start. Can anyone tell me how I figure out what 3 handle kit I need?

Do you want to rebuild or completely replace them? What is the handles mounted on? I assume its tile. You may want to take some pictures. I suspect something that old, you may need to completely replace with new hardware. If this is the case, you may need to plan on a full shower rebuild. I did this a few years ago, but i soldered all my shower parts in pretty quick, then restored water and completed the shower tile work over a few weeks.
