Bathroom ceiling fan

Trying to install new ceiling fan - non-timer type. When wire in the live and neural supply the fan will turn on when the light is off and off when the light is on!! Any ideas why this is happening??

Is this a replacement fan or a new installation?

If it is a new installation where are you taking the power from for the fan?
