Hi,

We are starting a self build and I'm trying to understand the following:

If each course of bricks is 75mm high (including mortar) and each block is 225mm high (including mortar) and a concrete floor plank is 150mm high (WITHOUT mortar)

Then how do we align the internal blockwork courses up with the external facing brickwork courses?

1) Do we need to chop off 10mm from the first course of blocks above the floor plank?
2) Do we not put down any mortar on the block on which the plank is resting?
3) Any other explanation?

Thanks
