Hi,
Returning home yesterday I was removing the satnav from the windscreen as usual but this time the sucker unit flew apart; I found all the parts with the exception of the pivot pin which had disappeared never to be found again; I used a torch but still couldn't find the pin so ether repair or replace.
I've got lots of assorted sized HSS drill bits so i selected one which was a nice tight fit; with the twist section removed and discarded both ends of the shank were neatly rounded it proved perfect and being a tight fit this time no fear of losing it. Care is needed not to choose too large a diameter bit otherwise it could break the pivot.
It worked a treat for me so I hope it's of use to others.
Kind regards, Colin.
