I really want to repurpose a trunk my landlord left me. However the color and finish are all wrong for what I need. There is nothing wrong with it, except there are quite a few noticeable scratches. The inlay design is also coming out/off. I really don't care about restoring the design and am open to ideas on how to refinish this piece. Please keep in mind, I'm a newbie to the DIY world and have limited funds, space and time. Should I even bother with this undertaking or just buy a new trunk? Help!
