RE-PIPE WITH PEX OR COPPER?

I have an ancient Los Angeles English Tudor home whose original galvanized pipes are corroded and leaking and so have diminshed water pressure. I've been advised to replace all pipes! I've been researching PEX and Copper! Please tell me the pros and cons. I understand PEX is cheaper but is VERY YUMMY to rodents? TRUE? How does one deal with that? All opinions and experiences appreciated. Thanks!

PEX is great for campers and motor homes. For a house go with copper. It is worth the money.

I fully agree with Doug; yes go for copper then forget it once installed.
