We have well water and I can wash my dishes in straight hot water... very hard to do but I've tried every dish soap I can and wherever I was plastic it's oily no matter what. We also had a pool for the grandchildren and when my son in law put some chemicals in it, the water became like it had old cooking oil in it. I've read some things and it's saying to get a new pump and take the oil out of the water. I'm confused.

The first thing to do is take a sample of your water to your county agent and have it tested for pollutants. Do that today!
