Can I cut this off the side of a slab?

Please see attached pic. I would like to add a slab for a patio, adjacent to my existing house foundation slab. As you can see in the attached pic, there's a "bump" on the side of the existing slab/footing. This is probably just a result of the way they made the form for the slab/foundation. In order to add the new slab next to the old slab with the proper isolation joint and spot footing, I would have to cut the bump off. Is there any problem with doing this?
