Blown-in insulation question

Need to insulate the attic above a garage. There is a mini-split cassette installed in the ceiling.

Two questions for you guys:

1. Are there any notable differences in the brands of blown-in insulation that you guys are aware of? Owens Corning, Jet Stream, Certainteed, etc?
2. Do I need to cover the mini-split before I insulate the space or can I cover the mini-split with insulation?

I am looking to do this myself but due to respiratory issues, I may have to obtain a contractor for this job.

Any advice either way, whether I do this myself or hire it done?
