Hi Everyone,
I'm a newbie
I removed the sloped dirt in my backyard towards my neighbors back fence (his house is above mine). I'm now looking at a wall of dirt (very hard packed). Its 5' high. I don't picture it collapsing due to it's density but I realize there's factors (movement, rain, etc..) I want to build a retaining wall that's not overdoing it but at the same time will be a protective barrier. I was thinking spacing round (heavy gauge) fence posts every 6'? and inserting them 3' down with concrete. Then place 2" x 12" pressure treated wood to create the retaining wall. Of course, I would add a drainage system behind it. Could this do the trick?
