Constructing a partition in my garage

I have converted my garage into a woodworking shop and car-repair bay. My wife wants me to construct an 8-ft high and 12-ft long partition separating the workshop from the walkway from the exterior door to the interior door. The partition will meet the exterior wall in between two studs.

How do I attach the first stud of the partition to the exterior wall?
