Cladding or rendering over pebbledash

Hi everyone. My house has pebbledash all over and I fancy a change. What would be best, having cladding or having it rendered and then paint over. I don't really want to have the pebbledash removed unless I really had to. But I don't know what would be best for the brickwork. Thank you
