occupancy sensor

I am trying to wire in an occupancy sensor in a bathroom of a community pool. The problem is, the directions call for one of the blacks hooked up to a hot, the other hooked up to a load and a ground hooked up.........I have 2 hot wires and a neutral where the switch used to be, any ideas? I tried both ways of hooking up the 2 black wires from the sensor (hooking them up to the red wires one way and then the other) and it still wont work. There is no ground for me to hook up to (the box is a metal box). Any help is appreciated!!
