I'm building a deck at my house. I was going through the drawing that I have and was wondering if someone could help me understand what might be going on here. This is the platform at the top of the stairs at the edge of the deck. The post is 6x6 and the joists are 2x10. Pretending there was no platform here, it's easy to understand how the deck is together, but I'm not sure how the stair platform was intended to attach to the rim joist at the edge of the deck.
I live in CT. This part isn't built yet so I can adjust the plan. I'm just wondering if anyone knows the way to handle this that is code.
