Repairing cracks in External Rendered Walls

The external walls of my 10 year old house are spar dashed (SE England name
for it) or harled (Scottish name for it).
There are a few cracks appearing, maybe only 1mm wide at the moment, but I
am concerned that in the winter, water may get in, then freeze and start
blowing chunks of the rendering.
I've used clear silicone sealant on this type of thing before, but it is
obvious to the eye forevermore. Raking out and refilling, even if I could
match the colour, would almost certainly be unsightly too.
Any suggestions?
