Interesting news, the AA have launched a handyman service

My thoughts? It will probably raise awareness of the niche handyman
services occupy, but their overheads will be reflected in their charges.

£11.95 per month = ~£140 per year for 'up to' £750 per incident ('hourly
rate plus the materials used in the job'). Rather like the roadside service
then. If you are useless and need to call someone out even to change a
wheel, it probably is worthwhile have one number to call and
-hopefully- a timely response. OTOH will probably be too expensive for a
non-emergency job, and the AA person will not be a specialist in
plumbing/electrics etc.
Like all insurance schemes it won't make a profit if there are too many
claims. It seems any people view insurance not as a bet that they would
prefer to lose, but more on the principle that having paid x in premiums
you have not got your money's worth unless you put in for x+ claims.

Not the roadside service that I and Dave Baker supply then:)

The "Home Emergency Response" part seems like just a competitor for
Homeserve, but the other bit is interesting

"Services provided by Home Assist and Handy Squad will be charged at an
hourly rate plus the materials used in the job"

I can't see that working for them or the customer somehow. Just too many
variables. I wonder what our resident handyman thinks.

The announcement that the AA will be entering the handyman services business is, I must admit, rather intriguing. It's always fascinating to see well-known businesses looking into novel possibilities. At 'My Home Handyman,' They've been serving their valued customers with dedication and commitment. We think that a good handyman service may have a big impact on the upkeep and comfort of homes. Regarding the discontinuation of B&Q's handyman service, change is inevitable in any industry. It serves as a reminder that the landscape of handymen is constantly changing and that companies must adjust to meet homeowners' shifting expectations.

For those looking for reliable handyman services, I'd like to offer a piece of advice: always prioritize quality and professionalism when choosing a service provider. At 'My Home Handyman,' They take pride in their team of skilled professionals who are ready to tackle any task.
