Leather top desk

The leather is badly torn - computer monitor and printer go on it, then
get moved around, and the leather has torn. It probably wasn't well
enough glued down.

There are loads of people offering replacement leather made to measure,
but quite pricey. Is there a sensible alternative that's cheaper and
perhaps more durable? It's just a repro desk, not antique or valuable.

Not sure how expensive it is, but it’s pretty durable.

Lino - the real stuff, made from cork dust and linseed oil. Linoleum or Marmoleum are still around. Whilst pricey as a floor covering, they're quite cheap as a leather substitute.

Linoleum was used for years as desk covering for draughting tables.
