Kitchen cabinet questions

We are considering remodeling our kitchen. We did the kitchen in our
previous house with Mill's Pride units (with solid maple doors) from HD,
and they lasted well for the three years before we moved. They have the
advantage of being frameless and of having steel drawer sides, both of
which contribute to more efficient use of space. They also had the
advantage that I was spending my time to assemble them rather than
paying somebody else to do so. Unfortunately, the range of cabinet
configurations of MP is more limited than in some other brands.

KraftMaid now offers "European-style" (i.e., frameless) cabinets, but
again the range of configurations is limited. Same story with IKEA.

Are there other frameless models that offer a wider range of
configurations? Or is there a good reason why frameless cabinets just
don't seem to be popular?

Many of the brands (e.g., Mill's Pride [sold only by HD], KraftMaid

Bertch is pretty much the top of the line anywhere. Merillat and Schrock are
also very good. KraftMaid... well... I've not had good experiences with them.
*Really* spotty quality control. And their customer service leaves a lot to be
desired: polite as can be, but utterly incompetent.

I just installed Kitchen Kompact cabinets and am pretty happy with
them. While they are a value line - they look great. Also I bought
directly from WilsonArt so they were significantly less than the
homestore value lines.

"Premier" (sold by HD) is also a Masco company, I see.

Now I have discovered that "Diamond Reflections" (sold by Lowe's)
belongs to the same group as Schrock, so it's not surprising that most
of the catalog numbers are the same. But now I see that the numbers are
also mostly the same as the Thomasville line of cabinets sold by HD,
although I see no acknowledgment that there is any connection between
Thomasville and MasterBrand (the parent co. of the other two). All very
interesting.

Hello Guys, im a window guy and kind of clueless when it comes to cabinets.
We are looking for off white/ creamed colored cabinets. How is Omega as a brand? Any other well known brands? I want a kind of traditional look.

In my opinion some of the well known makes in the UK are a bit of a rip off.
Here it is often better to find a smaller company in an industrial area without any fancy showrooms.

We had a kitchen installed by one such company 18 years ago, just laminated chipboard carcasses and lamimated mdf doors and drawer fronts. It has got quality soft close drawer mechanics and a sophisticated German made corner carousel unit. It's still as good as new.

You can see bits of it in this recent thread. I said it was fourteen years old, but I was out by four years!

The advantage of it being basic, was that actually adding an additional cupboard 17 years later, wasn't that hard in the end.
