Inlay banding suppliers?

pete

I'm just finishing up building a set of cupboards and shelves.
To hide the joints between the wooden surrounds and the veneered
flat surfaces I'm planning on inserting some veneer inlays.
I've found a couple of suppliers (originalmarquetry.co.uk and
pyrography.co.uk) but I'd like a wider range of choice, especially
for strips the same width as my 1/4-inch router bit so I can
insert the inlays without having to buy an odd-sized bit just for
this job.

Any more ideas please?

Craft Supplies carry them (at a price). My local supplier is Robbins
Timber in Bedminster, Bristol. Huge range of veneer and bandings too.

Thanks for the tips, chaps.
It occurred to me after my OP, that since one side of the join I'm
trying to conceal is the maple veneered MDF of the top/sides, that
I'll have to score this before I route out the trench to put thie
inlay in. In fact the depth of the veneer is going to be the same
as the thickness of the inlay strip. So, althouhh I'll still need to
use a router to cut the wooden edging down by the depth of the
inlay, I can make the width on the veneered board side as wide as
I please - to suit the width of the inlay strip, rather than being
limited by the width of the router bit I use to cut the trench.
That increases my options quite a lot, so far as choice of strip
goes.
(will have a look at the UK workshop frum, too)

Toolstation do standard 2 flute TCT router cutters in a whole range of
sizes starting at around the £2 mark. The days of Trend having an
effective monopoly and being able to charge £20 a pop are long gone.
