Hi,
I have a Liftmaster 1/2 hp garage door opener.
My door’s chain sprocket sheered off a while back. I replaced that.
Since then, however, when the door closes the rail at the end closest to the wall flexes or bows upward, and the door opens right back up.
We have been operating the door manually because when we used the opener it looked like something was going to break.
Will messing with the "set screws" fix this? That does not seem like the way to fix the problem, but I wouldn't know. It seems like there isn't enough "play" in those screws to correct the load issue that I described above.
What other steps can I try here?
Does anyone know of a video resource that demonstrates what to do?
Thanks.
PS: Never mind -- I figured it out. Took a while but it seems to be working. I messed with the force and the lift adjustments.
Should not be so difficult to deal with something so simple.
