I am new to this place and hope I am putting this question in the correct location. I thank you in advance for any insight you may be aboe to provide.I have a d55146 type 3 that is not making pressure, primary tank only gets to about 30psi. I installed a pressure regulator kit just because it was cheep and easy, nothing is that easy right? So I did some trouble shooting; I do not suspect the back pressure switch because I do not have air leaking out of the tank when I shut it off; so I took the hose off of the back pressure switch, this is the one that comes from the compressor piston and I can put my finger on it to stop the pressure coming out. I took the covers off and see nothing and feel no leaking air just the breeze provided by the spinning flywheel. I suspect the head gasket or the something with the piston but would I not hear air escaping if there was a problem with that?
Thank you for your help.

Gregory...of all the possibilities that come to mind, you may have a bad valve inside that is allowing the air to escape out the intake.
