Storing printer ink cartridges long term?

Here's one for you, do any of you clever souls out there know how to store ink cartridges (not the printer) long term? I've heard of many ways inc fridge/sealable bags etc but would prefer some first hand knowledge,

Well in the stores they are kept on the selves, as long as you keep them in the box and sealed in the vacuum bag. You should be able to keep them were ever you want as long as it is a cool and dry.
